Due to licensing requirements in the state of New York, we may only accommodate your child for up to 3 consecutive hours a day. You may schedule your child for care during any of those 3 hours, but it is important that you pick your child up on time. If you are late picking your child up resulting in care for more than 3 hours, a note will be made on your account. The Treehouse reserves the right to charge a late fee for all late pickups over 3 hours. After the first 5 minutes over 3 hours, the fee is $1 for every minute thereafter. After the third late violation, your privileges may be revoked, and your child will no longer be allowed to receive care at The Treehouse. Children must be between the ages of 12 months - 12 years old. Reservations are encouraged, but walk-ins are gladly welcome on a space available basis.
Payment: you may pay by cash, check, debit, or major credit card. Payment is due upon check-out. A $25 fee will be charged for returned checks.
Meals: Please bring your children prepared with everything they will need for their stay at our facility. This includes, but is not limited to, diapers, wipes, a change of clothes, juice cups, and any snacks that you prefer for your child. There will be a $0.50 charge for every diaper that The Treehouse has to supply. Everything should be labeled with your child’s name. We always offer water and plain cheerios and goldfish for snacks, and if your child is with us during lunch or dinner you have the option of bringing your child their own meal or purchasing a pizza meal for them for an additional $4. Lunch is between 12:30 and 1:00pm. Dinner is between 5:30 and 6pm.
All children are required to wear socks in our facility. If you forget to bring socks, there will be some available for purchase at the front desk.
Check In/Check Out: We want to keep children as secure as possible while in our facility. The door is kept locked and can only be opened from the inside. Every parent will be issued a key card to check children in and out of the facility, and only authorized persons listed on the child’s account will be able to check children out. Please remember to keep your information on authorized pick-ups and emergency contacts updated through the web portal (KidCheck) so that we have the most accurate information. Each child will be issued a name tag with a bar code on it that will match the parents’ scan card. If your child has an allergy, this will also appear on the name tag.
All of our employees have gone through a background check, fingerprinting, and are CPR certified. We would never hire anyone that we wouldn’t feel comfortable leaving our own children with.
We have an open door policy. Come in and look around! Please note that if we are full our staff may ask you to come for a tour at a time when we are not so busy.
If your child is sick, please do not bring him/her to our facility! This is for the benefit of your child, and for the other children who use our services. The following is a list of symptoms that indicate your child should refrain from visiting our facility:
Fever: Fever is defined as having a temperature of 100°F or higher taken under the arm, 101°F taken orally, or 102°F taken rectally. For children 4 months or younger, the lower rectal temperature of 101°F is considered a fever threshold; (a child needs to be fever free for a minimum of 24 hours before returning to daycare, that means the child is fever free without the aid of Tylenol®, or any other fever reducing substance.
Fever AND sore throat, rash, vomiting, diarrhea, earache, irritability, or confusion.
Diarrhea: runny, watery, bloody stools, or 2 or more loose stools within last 4 hours.
Vomiting: 2 or more times in a 24 hour period. Note: please do not bring your child if they have vomited in the night.
Breathing trouble, sore throat, swollen glands, loss of voice, hacking or continuous coughing.
Runny nose (other than clear), draining eyes or ears.
Frequent scratching of body or scalp, lice, rash, or any other spots that resemble childhood diseases, including ringworm.
Child is irritable, continuously crying, or requires more attention than we can provide without hurting the health, safety or well-being of the other children in our care.
The Treehouse reserves the right to refuse entry to any child who may exhibit the above symptoms. If your child becomes sick while in our care we will contact you immediately.
Discipline Policy: we encourage children to self-regulate through positive guidance. Your child may be redirected to another activity, or given other choices in the event there is a dispute. Sharing is always encouraged by our staff. Children who demonstrate physical aggression may need to be put in the “thinking area”, away from other children but still under watch of our staff. Staff will communicate with parents on the behavior of their child during their stay. The Treehouse reserves the right to revoke the use of our facility by any child who may compromise the safety and well-being of our program. The following will absolutely not be tolerated at our facility: corporal punishment; isolating a child; withholding food, rest, or sleep; or frightening, demeaning, or humiliating a child.
We cannot issue any medication to your children. If your child must take medicine during the time of care, please schedule him/her during a time when medication does not need to be administered. If this is an issue, please call and speak to a staff member.
